The Health Cluster aims to improve and protect people's health and well-being across all ages by creating new knowledge, developing innovative solutions, and including a gender perspective when relevant. Its goals also include developing health technologies, reducing health risks, safeguarding populations, and promoting overall health both in daily life and at work. Additionally, it seeks to make public health systems more efficient, fair, and sustainable, while preventing poverty-related diseases and supporting patients' participation and self-management.
Cluster Health strives to contribute to six expected impacts as set out by the Strategic Plan, which are the following six destinations of the work programme:
- Destination 1: Staying healthy in a rapidly changing society
- Destination 2: Living and working in a health-promoting environment
- Destination 3: Tackling diseases and reducing disease burden
- Destination 4: Ensuring access to innovative, sustainable and high-quality healthcare
- Destination 5: Unlocking the full potential of new tools, technologies and digital solutions for a healthy society
- Destination 6: Maintaining an innovative, sustainable and globally competitive health-related industry
Under each of these destinations, calls for proposals are published regularly, usually once to twice per year. These calls are usually for collaborative projects, for applicant consortia consisting of organisations situated in different EU countries and beyond.
